Michael Maier, M.D.

Dr. Michael Maier has been in private practice since 2006 and is one of the most highly respected orthopedic surgeons in both the Houston and Richmond communities.  He is also Co-Founder of Texas Sports Medicine Institute and PLEX 99, and is currently an active member of the Medical Executive Committee and the facilities Governing Boards. 

Dr. Maier has authored several publications and has given presentation throughout his career, and curently is an investigator in clinical research studies.  Dr. Maier is an expert in his field.  Through patient education, conservative management, and advanced surgical techniques, Dr. Maier enjoys provideing individualized and comprehensive orthopedic care for his patients.

Bachelor of Science He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame, and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Medical Doctorate Dr. Maier received his Medical Doctorate from the University of Texas  Southwestern Medical School at Dallas, where he graduated with honors as Valedictorian of his class, and was President of the AOA National Honor Society.

Dr. Maier completed his internship and his orthopedic surgery residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Notre Dame Orthopedic Society, and Piedmont Orthopedic Society.
