Melanie S. Stanley. Nurse Practitioner. Nurse Practitioners have a long history of engaging patients in their care, helping them to understand their illness and practical measures they can take for improvements. Melanie S. Stanley obtained her nursing degree at Prairie View A&M University in 2008. She went on to work at the Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center as a registered nurse on a step down unit for 7 years. In 2010 Melanie decided to advance her career an enrolled in a Family Nurse Practitioner program at Prairie View A&M University where she graduated in 2014. Ms. Stanley is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She provides passionate, holistic care to her patients. Her patients state that she is thorough and compassionate about her profession. Melanie is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Houston Area Nurse Practitioners. We Welcome Melanie with open arms and are happy to have her as a part of OakBend Medical Group.

COVID-19 Drive Thru Testing


Steps in-order to be tested for COVID-19


Initial criteria for the Covid-19 Testing will require a Telehealth visit. To schedule a Telehealth visit call 281-238-7870


The patient will be screened during the Telehealth visit for criteria that suggests a possible positive Covid-19



Criteria for Covid-19 Testing:



Patients must have symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath) AND have one of the following risk factors:



Older than 65 years old



People who have serious underlying health conditions (heart disease, diabetes, lung disease/asthma, HIV, immunocompromised)



Healthcare workers with suspected exposure



The patient must have proper photo identification in order to proceed with testing.



The patient specimen will be collected while the patient remains in the vehicle. Patient must arrive by car or truck. No patients on bikes will be tested.
